Last week, I met my friend Heather in Bristol and we went for lunch at Café Kino in Stokes Croft, a co-operative veggie café which does great falafel. Across the road I spotted what looked like a jumble sale in the yard of a mad artist.
Turns out there’s a squat in this here building and a bunch of arty types live there. They put on film evenings and let anyone add anything to their wall. Occasionally, they sell odd assortments of clothes and bric-a-brac, leaving us with a hat and a cardi for the oh-so-low price of four pounds. Bargain.
There is also a fair amount of graffiti all around the building.
I like this guy. He’s plotting something…
We knocked on the door, but the artists weren’t in. The next time I go to Bristol I’m going to take something to add to the wall. A few stencil ideas have been in my head lately, maybe this’ll be the motivation to get them made.
